We saw an article that that said this was one of the best runs in the country, so we decided to head up and check it out. The run is near Payson and is basically a trip down a wash. We are pretty sure, via GPS, that we were on the right trail. It was pretty simple until we reached the big pool and shelf area. At this point we knew were on the right trail, we had seen pictures of this spot. The big water hole was actually dry, which made the climb up the ledge even more interesting. I was the only one that went up the ledge, with help from the winch, the others bypassed this spot. The trail then just wound up on a forest road. We were a bit let down, not all we had expected, but it was a nice day on the trail, which is always worth the trip!
